Tampines is located in the east side of Singapore, the second stop on the green line of the MRT line
It is a 10 minutes drive from the airport and about 30-45 minutes journal by public transport to the city. Tampines is easily accessible from other parts of Singapore via public transport.
Tampines is one of the many heartland areas/neighbourhoods in Singapore, with many high-rise flats and neighbourhood facilities and conveniences such as a bus interchange, an MRT station, a polyclinic, a library, two big shopping malls, banks, a sports complex (sports hall, stadium and swimmin… read moreg pool), places of worship, schools, institutions and many others.
Tampines is famous for its shopping malls - Tampines Mall and Century Square, where people patronize to eat, shop and catch movies. Located in the central area of Tampines, these places are frequented by heartlanders of all ages, from students to office workers. There are also several office buildings nearby (e.g. UOB, Citibank, OCBC, AIA).
Tampines may not be a place for tourists or sightseeing but it may be a great place to offer a local insight on Singapore and the "heartlanders" way of life.
